Book of the Month – June 2024
Hunting in a Farmer’s World
Celebrating the Mind of an Entrepreneur
By John F. Dini
“This book doesn’t feel like the usual big-company how-to business book. It is more personal than that, and more focused. John’s breakthrough is to take a fundamental truth about human nature and apply it, with laser focus, to the act of starting and running a business.” – Seth Godin, Author of Fifteen International Bestsellers
“If you want to know what makes an entrepreneur, what makes an entrepreneur, what entrepreneurs do, what they don’t do, whether you’re wasting your time and money posing as one, or if you actually possess the primordial “hunter” DNA to be one, congratulations… you’ve come to the right place. In classic, no nonsense fashion, John F. Dini lays all of it out so you can determine whether to take the entrepreneurial road less traveled and go against the odds, or start working on your farmer resume.” – Jim Blasingame, Host of The Small Business Advocate® Show, author of Small Business is Like a Bunch of Bananas and Three Minutes to Success
“I loved it! In order to leave a successful business, it first has to be successful. Hunting in a Farmer s World explains to entrepreneurs that they don t have to follow the requirements of traditional management books to succeed. It encourages the hunters of the business world to do what they do best… hunt!” – John Brown, CEO, The Business Enterprise Institute, author of How to Run Your Business So You can Leave it in Syle and Cash Out, Move On!

Hunter or Farmer? Take the quiz at HIAFW.com.
All men (and women) are created equal, but that doesn’t mean that they are all the same. Entrepreneurs are different. Small business owners make up 3% of America’s population, but they create two-thirds of the new jobs in our economy. They are hunters, and hunters have provided for others for thousands of years.
Management books tell entrepreneurs how to become farmers. They try to teach hunters to run their businesses using a farming cycle. Ancient farming wisdom has been translated into the modern day management tasks of planning, budgeting, standardizing, and measuring.
Entrepreneurs hunt. They don’t manage. They explore rather than analyze. They build companies with vision, creativity & tenacity; not with policies & procedures.
Hunting in a Farmers World celebrates the differences that drive entrepreneurs. It is filled with the stories of real business owners who overcame real challenges – including challenges that accompany success.
